Student Competition Terms and Conditions

  1. As a first, second-year and third year dental student, you’ll be eligible to receive your R500 Takealot voucher when your referred friend is approved for Dental Protection membership - their application for membership must be submitted by the end of 17 December 2025 23:59.
  2. Your voucher will be processed once your colleague's membership has been set up. Please allow 14 working days for processing of your e-gift card.
  3. The colleague being referred should complete the application form, selecting ‘other’ under ‘Where did you hear about us?’ and input “Refer a friend” along with the email address of the referrer in the ‘Please provide details’ box.
  4. The referrer must be a member of Dental Protection and the colleague being referred cannot be an existing member of Dental Protection.
  5. Employees or agents of The Medical Protection Society Limited ("MPS", "We") its group companies or their family members, or anyone else connected with the incentive may not enter.
  6. Entrants into the incentive shall be deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions
  7. To refer a friend, your colleague must submit their application form and when their membership has been approved you will both receive R500 Takealot vouchers.

  9. MPS does not accept responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason. Proof of delivery of the entry is not proof of receipt by MPS.
  10. The closing date of the incentive is 17 December 2025. Entries received outside this time will not be considered.
  11. MPS does not accept responsibility for any costs associated with the voucher and not specifically included in the voucher.
  12. The prize is non-exchangeable and non-transferable.
  13. Eligibility for the 'Refer a Friend' incentive is limited to the first 50 applicants who are successfully onboarded as Dental Protection members. Once this limit is reached, subsequent applicants will not be eligible for the incentive.
  14. Vouchers must be accepted as offered by the named member only. MPS reserves the right to ask for proof of identity, age and address and withdraw prize entitlement where there are reasonable grounds to believe there has been a breach of these terms and conditions.
  15. MPS shall use any personal information supplied as described in its privacy policy, a copy of which can be seen at www.medicalprotection.org/home/privacy-cookies-policy and in accordance with data protection legislation.
  16. MPS reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this incentive with or without prior notice due to reasons outside its control (including, without limitation, in the case of anticipated, suspected, or actual fraud). The decision of MPS in all matters under its control is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered.
  17. MPS shall not be liable for any failure to comply with its obligations where the failure is caused by something outside its reasonable control. Such circumstances shall include, but not be limited to, cyber-crime, data breach, supervening legislation, or any other circumstances such as tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud or technical failures.
  18. The incentive will be governed by English law and entrants to the incentive submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
  19. This incentive is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Takealot. Prizes are subject to Takealot standard terms and conditions.
