If you are considering ceasing practice completely for more than 30 days you can opt to become a deferred member of Dental Protection.
As a deferred member:
- You will not pay a subscription to Dental Protection for this period of deferment
- You will not have access to the benefits of membership
- You will not be able to access advice or assistance for matters arising during a period of deferred membership, other than in relation to Good Samaritan Acts
- You will not have the right to request indemnity if you undertake any clinical work including telephone advice and consultations
Deferred membership is only available if you are ceasing practice completely for more than 30 days.

We will of course happily welcome you back as an active member on the same terms if you choose to resume your practice at a later date.
For members who pay by Direct Debit:
Please do not cancel your Direct Debit we will manage everything on your behalf.
Keeping your Direct Debit in place will enable a smoother process for swift reactivation of full membership once you return to work.
